EcoLogic Balanced Solutions is a home-grown consulting service, designed with NGOs, academic research, city to federal research and service projects, and the private sector in mind. Led by a PhD “social ecologist”, Dr. Stacy Lynn, who has more than 20 years of experience designing and conducting social-ecological research projects in Africa and the United States.
Ecological research and conservation all occur in the context of society. While researchers and organizations may have a primary objective that is centered on ecological components of the system, community and other stakeholder engagement in the process and their valued contributions may not only inform work, but can also increase its success.
EcoLogic’s mission is to improve the logic and effectiveness of ecosystem research by designing complementary social science components. This allows researchers to better meet stakeholder and user needs to improve both community relationships and research and engagement outcomes. EcoLogic’s work can take many forms: as an add-on component for an ecological project which can take place during any phase of research or development, or as a key component of deliberately-designed social-ecological research, engagement or development.
